I have always been a bit of fitness junkie. I used to go to gym every morning at 5.30 and workout for at least an hour before heading off to work. I found it to be the most successful way of maintaining my fitness levels and keeping toned. I did this for a few years and then I decided to head overseas, to London, to gain some worldly knowledge. Once in this foreign land, I began to over indulge on the fantastic stodgy food that the English consume on a regular basis amongst other things.

This over indulgence went unnoticed for the first year but I then began to notice my weight increasing. From that moment on I explored different diets and different exercise plans. My weight and fitness regime began to spiral out of control. I finally decided to head back home with my noticeably larger body two and a half years later. On arrival at the airport I decided to make a change, it was time to find myself again. I had lost sight of the things I enjoyed the most about exercise and about myself.

While I was living in the UK I had heard about Pole dancing and found the idea quite intriguing. I had always enjoyed dancing and thought that this might be a great way to incorporate my exercise regime with something else that I enjoy. I never got to explore this option while in the UK but in South Africa I pursued it. My sister and I signed up for some classes and WOW, I had finally discovered something that was fun, exciting and a decent workout.

I started to shed the many kilos that I had gained overseas and within a year was back down to my normal body weight. I started to look more toned and feel sexy, my confidence levels soured and I had a new found belief in myself.I went through a training course and spent many hours discovering my own unique way of dancing and advanced pole dancing skills. 

Over the last few years of instructing I have seen women of all ages, shapes and sizes become more confident through the classes that we offer. Their fitness levels have increased as well as their flexibility and strength.

I have  won the title of Miss Pole Dance 2007 - 1st Princess and SA Pole Dance Championship 2008 - 1st Princess.

I absolutely love what I do - the sport of pole dancing is incredible and sensual dancing has a way of unlocking every women's inner vixen and I cant wait to share it with you. 

Pole Dance, Fitness & Sensual Dance Instructor

From an early age I trained as a gymnast and took ballet classes until age 18, continuing after my formal education I pursued other dance forms including Flamenco and Greek Dancing.

My training in gymnastics has made the transition to pole dancing a natural and effortless one. Pole dancing for me is a vocation and my advances are born out of a passion for the dance form, this art has shaped the last for years of my dancing career.

My passions for Pole dancing has now lead me to become an instructor. I teach Intermediate Pole dancing as well as fitness classes and polercise.

I successfully competed in the 2007 Miss Pole Dance SA and 2008 Pole Dancing Championships, as well as having danced at the 2008 Lourie Awards.

Since taking up Pole Dancing it has provided me with an addition to my exercise regime, because you support your entire body weight you will see the results much faster than you would using dumbbells or barbells at the gym (plus pole classes are a whole lot more fun!)

Physical benefits of pole dancing include an increase in upper body strength and arm tone, an increase in core stability (and a flatter stomach) as well as an increase in coordination and flexibility. However the most important benefits of pole dancing are not immediately obvious to the outsider, there is a newfound sense of body awareness and of your body's limits and capabilities. As you (and a class of women just like you) accomplish moves and a form of dancing you never thought possible the confidence you gain will spill over into your everyday life.
