The Raj Indian Restaurant can be found in the peaceful suburb of Crowthorne, Kyalami, in the Crowthorne Shopping Centre, on the corner of Main & Arthur Roads. From the concrete highway (N1) take the R55 turnoff and travel north towards Kyalami. Proceed along this road into Kyalami and then into Crowthorne. You'll find the Crowthorne Shopping Centre on your right on the corner of Main and Arthur Roads. The Raj is in this centre. Ample, secure parking is provided for patrons throughout the day and evening.

You will not be disappointed with your "Indian" experience at The Raj Restaurant. The only disappointment will be that you didn’t visit us sooner. The Raj throws a curve ball on the weekends by providing patrons with the experiences of SOUTH Indian culinary delights. For the connoisseur this is a delightful change from the North Indian dishes, which are served in most Indian restaurants.

The food is spicy, delicious and very traditional with the menu offering a large variety of authentic Indian cuisine including such dishes as Tikka Masala, Vindaloo, Khorma and Bhoona. All curries are available from Mild to Hot and each curry includes a selection of meats to choose from.

A comprehensive vegetarian menu is available and house specialities range from seafood dishes to lamb dishes.

A selection of breads, rice and briyanis are also provided and recommended for use as a means to break the burn! One of the traditional breads that must be tried is the "naan". Ancient Persians invented the side opening clay oven called the "tandoor" which was the forerunner to India's tandoor, an upright earthen ware spherical oven with a narrow neck on the top.

Fired at the bottom with charcoal, a flat disc of dough is placed onto its inner walls and cooks in seconds. The cooked bread is then lifted off with the help of skewers. These "naans" are cooked fresh "to order"!
