The Midrand SPCA has issued an urgent appeal to residents and businesses for donations of jumble, books, and blankets.  They also require volunteers to help with projects. Our Kennels are in an alarming state of disrepair. Our best efforts and quick fixes are no longer working and as you can see from The Pictures in Our Photo Gallery , our situation is now desperate. Leaks are causing water to collect in the kennels and the face brick and damp are a breeding ground for bacteria and disease.

We have had the builders in to give us quotes and while the quotes are fair, R500 000.00 is currently beyond us.

With this figure in mind, the fundraising is set to begin in earnest. We are desperately looking for potential donors, private and corporate. No amount is too small and every penny will be made to count. Receipts will be provided if requested, which, under section 18A of the Tax Act will make your donations Tax Deductable.

Please keep an eye on our events page as a series of fundraising events are in the pipeline, beginning with the soccer day on 22 August '09. We are open to any fundraising ideas and these can be submitted via the Contacts Page.

We would like to Thank all the people of Midrand who have been supporting us over the years, whether it be the regulars at our book sales, the donors who support us each month with whatever they can or the people who come down and help walk the dogs. Without your support we would not be able to survive and it is this support which we hope will ensure that our Kennels are repaired and upgraded
